Menorca Golf
Golf Son Parc Menorca is the only golf course on this beautiful quiet island and was designed and opened to the public in 1977 as a 9 hole course but was later re-designed by David Thomas the well known golf course architect who also designed courses such as The Belfry in the UK and Altorreal and San Roque in Spain amongst many others.
The course measures 5,169 metres (5,685 yards) from the men's white tees and 4,652 metres (5,117 yards) from the ladies tees and the par 69 course comprises 6 par 3's,9 par 4's and 3 par 5 holes.
This flat but narrow course is well designed with strategically placed bunkers, dog legs, undulating greens and water hazards with the course winding between pine woods and is boarded by extensive wet lands and rocky bunkers and has a colony of peacocks all of which make for an enjoyable round but the course can be testing in high winds due to the narrow fairways and trouble lining each hole.
The course facilities include an 18 bay driving range with a chipping a putting green and all this is visible from the terrace of the Bar-Restaurant Es Bruc Golf which is open all year.
