Some ten years ago Murcia looked like becoming the MECCA for golf in Spain with some 40 golf courses either planned or under construction and Mike Probert who is known locally as something of a golf expert having appeared on television in the golf documentary ‘Golfing Wars’, on local radio stations such as Spectrum FM and Exite FM and writing weekly golf article for the LEADER newspaper giving golf advise, was commissioned by a book publisher called Lean Marketing to write a factual book about golf in Murcia.

The book called ‘A Golfing Guide to Murcia’ was distributed through Amazon and W H Smith and received excellent reviews for the style and content which included:

The book proved very popular with resident and tourist golfers alike because it provided them with a single point of access for any golfing questions that they had.

During the intervening period the world suffered the financial crisis and the golfing picture in Murcia has changed with some courses such as Covera, La Peraleja and La Tercia closing, a number of planned courses being cancelled and some courses changing management companies or ownership.

The book was factual in content and therefore a number features of the book are now inaccurate and the book awaits re-publication.
